Alex Miller created Rainbow Puppy Poopy Party for his nieces during the pandemic out of a sheer frustration from playing games with his nieces. Driven nearly mad of boredom from a simple chutes and ladders game, Miller decided to make a game for his nieces that he would enjoy playing. He cut up pieces of construction paper, drew puppies and poop, and then played it with his nieces. Miller’s eldest niece loved the game so much she started taking it around to friends' houses, and she loved it so hard it literally fell apart. Miller decided it would be easier to order a deck of cards with his designs in case she ever lost it again. And thus Rainbow Puppy Poopy Party was born. 

Miller studied interactive art, comedy, poetry, and more at his time at Sarah Lawrence College. He created a game as his thesis: Art or Fart (maybe the poo theme has always been there) - realizing it’s easier to show people what conceptual art is rather than explaining it through words. From there, he made prompt-based games that have been sold at independent bookstores in Los Angeles.
